Why We Love Visme at DevriX

Data is a boring word, right? Still, we can’t ignore its importance, no matter the field we are in. Data is highly valued in the business world as it is the basis for creating strategies, setting goals and making crucial business decisions. In today’s highly competitive market, the correct and timely use of data ensures business growth and staying ahead of the competition.

Data is growing rapidly. According to the Northeastern University, close to 2.5 Exabytes are produced every day, which is equivalent to 530,000,000 million songs, 250,000 Libraries of Congress or 90 years of HD video. However, its sheer quantity does not make it automatically useful We believe that for data to be meaningful and useful in solving problems, it has to be “beautiful”.

What do we mean by “beautiful” here? Let’s consider the 90 years of HD video as an example. The phrase “90 years of HD video” might sound grand, but it is not useful (yet). What if we can break it down to “20 years of educational videos”, “30 years of funny videos” and “40 years of sports/inspirational videos”. The data is now beginning to sound more useful. That’s the “beauty” of it. We have made it more meaningful, relatable and easy to understand.

In real life, it is not so easy to attach beauty to data. But what if you had a tool that could help you convert your rather boring data into visually appealing pieces of information?

Visuals Make Data Interesting

You probably already know that visual content is becoming more important by the minute. Some 3.2 billion photos are being shared every day on social media and social messaging platforms. Moreover, BuzzSumo has found that Facebook updates with images get an incredible 2.3 times more engagement than those without.

It seems logical that data would be more shareable if it came in the form of an image. More importantly, however, it would be better understood. Researchers from Indiana University have discovered that 323% of people do better when following directions that have illustrations than when they do not. At DevriX, we believe that this is one of the main reasons behind the recent infographic revolution.

What We Love About Visme

There is a lot to love about Visme, its possibilities are endless. At Devrix, we definitely enjoy the freedom it allows us to create amazing infographics and designs. It’s user-friendly, easy to use, and intuitive. All the images and graphics in this article were created using Visme.

1. A Complete Package

Visme is not the only tool offering such a service, but it is one of the most detailed and comprehensive ones we’ve encountered so far. Visme is the complete package. Once you are up and running, you won’t look anywhere else.

You can use it to create not only single graphics, customized infographics or persuasive presentations, but also animated video-like content with sound. We’d go as far as to say you can make simple videos. While you may already be using a different tool for your video content, Visme really excels at infographics and is worth it even just for those.

2. Your Design Tutor

Visme doesn’t presume you have previous design experience. Its website offers a comprehensive list of extremely helpful information and tips, including:

3. Library Love

Visme’s library is insanely huge. It’s the one thing that instantly caught our attention – it was love at first sight, you could say. It’s packed with hundreds and thousands of customizable icons, templates, and images. For infographics, there are different types of content blocks you can choose from. You can mix and match shapes, icons, images – all of which allow you to generate your own customizable presentations.

There is even a library of audio files you can use, as well as the option to record your own. This allows you to create impactful presentations and videos which you can then embed, share or download for offline use. Also, you can add images to your Media Library to use in different projects.

4. Flexibility

As discussed above, the Visme library is packed full of pre-made templates. There are templates for infographics, presentations, ebooks, web graphics and more. Just as we’ve been used to seeing in other data visualization tools, Visme has great templates for social media graphics.

At DevriX, we were extremely impressed by the option to change the whole color palette of any of the templates they offer. The new Brand Kit feature also allows you to set custom color palettes for your brand. Impressively, once you choose a template you can change practically anything, including the graphs, icons, images and text elements themselves. You can also start from scratch and add the elements you want from scratch.

5. Cost-Effectiveness

Visme offers several different pricing plans depending on who you are and how you intend to use the tool. The Basic plan is free for individuals and Visme claims that over 80% of all functionality is available in it. At Devrix, we have been using the Complete plan and it is definitely worth it. Visme also loves teamwork, so its Team plan has tons of collaborative features where managers can create different folders and set role-based permissions.

Bottom Line

Visme is the perfect choice for businesses, solo entrepreneurs, bloggers, or anyone interested in creating infographics and other types of online presentations. The best thing about this tool is that you can create a lot without having any design experience. You might not create a masterpiece with Visme the first time around, but as you get more familiar with the platform, you’ll be amazed by its potential and see the benefits of adding graphics to your content.

One final tip: according to a BuzzSumo research, articles with an image every 75-100 words get double the number of shares of articles with fewer images, and a minimum of 30 more shares than articles with more. Aim for a healthy balance and you will see an increase in engagement in no time.
